i8 Gallery is pleased to present The reverse side of reality, with a dark ring, a body of new work by Ólafur Elíasson at Market Art Fair in Stockholm. This group of works includes paintings and sculptures that continue the artist’s longtime investigation of light, colour, perception, and optical phenomena.
Ólafur Elíasson's practice explores the significance of art in the global context. He was born in Copenhagen to Icelandic parents and studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. In 1995, he established Studio Olafur Eliasson as a laboratory for spatial research in Berlin which today comprises a large team of craftsmen, architects, archivists, researchers, administrators, cooks, programmers, art historians, and specialised technicians.
